Connection with Allah Almighty is as important for us as water is important for plants. Allah Almighty remembrance and worship nourishes our faith and keep us on straight path. If the hustle and bustle of this life is weakening our connection with Allah Almighty or if we are disconnected from Him (swt) and feeling frustrated, then we need to engage ourselves in His worship.
“verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.” (Al-Rad 13:28)
Here are some ways to connect a heart with Allah Almighty:
The definition of the word “Duaa” is prayers made to Allah Almighty. It can be made at any time and in any language.
“And your Lord said, “Call on Me, I will respond to you.” The Holy Quran 40:60
It doest not require any formal prescribed posture. It is separate from the formal islamic prayers like salat. Many scholars teach us the phrase, ” Duaa is the weapon of the believer.
2. Gratitude To Allah Almighty
Allah has told us that His pleasure may be attained through gratitude.
“If you are grateful, He is pleased with you..” (Az-Zumar 39:7)
Take a pen and paper and start writing down Allah’s Blesssings. We would surely have a never ending list. Every breath is his blessing. We need to be grateful to Him for the smallest things that He has given us. His greatest blessing is that He has chosen us to be Muslim. How much ungratefulness we show when we complain to Allah Almighty , disregarding all the blessings that He has bestowed upon us.
3. Trust In Allah Almighty
” And whoever relies upon Allah – Then He is sufficient for him.” (quran 65:3)
So what does it mean to rely on Allah Almighty?
It means to be firm in your heart. Trusting in Allah Almighty means that you trust and believe in His Mercy, His Help, His Wisdom, His Love, and His Goodness.
Imam Ahmad said that the happiest day of his life was when he woke up one morning only to find no food in his home, Because he knew that on this day he had to rely completely on Allah. This is trust in Allah Almighty. Allah is on your side! If you take one step towards Him, he takes many steps towards you! life is hard and unfortunate things happen to us, and we often don’t know why they happen. But if you trust in the grace of Allah, you know that He wants good for you!
4. Perform Salaat
The five daily prayers can be seen as a constant refresher of our faith. It encourage us spiritually if we engage in our prayers consciously, and not just treat them like a cardiovascular activity. An issue for many of us is that we are not eloquent in the Arabic language, so we might feel disconnected in prayer because we don’t understand what we are reciting. It’s then up to us to be aggressive and find ways to get something out of the prayer by reviewing, for example, a few of the verses you have recited, understanding their meaning etc.
5. Recite Holy Quran
I personally believe that reciting the Qur’an, even if we might not understand or remember everything, is a means to purify our hearts and bring about change inside of us. But in order to really feel the effect of His words on us, we have to be willing to go deeper in order to gain the awesome benefits of their meaning. Allah Almighty tells us in the Qur’an that our hearts find eventual peace and equanimity in the remembrance of Him. Since the Qur’an is said to be the best form of remembrance, it’s an essential element to keeping our hearts faithful.
